Rolling Hills Dermatology Group was founded in 2025 by Dr. Howard Fein, a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs micrographic surgeon. Dr. Fein first established Palos Verdes Dermatology Associates in 2004, directly across the street from his current location, where he built a trusted reputation for expert, compassionate skin-cancer and dermatologic care over more than two decades. The new Rolling Hills Dermatology Group represents the evolution of that legacy—a state-of-the-art, physician-owned center designed to integrate advanced medical, surgical, and aesthetic dermatology under one roof. The founding vision was simple but powerful: to bring university-level expertise and technology to a welcoming private-practice environment where every patient is treated like family.

Our in-house Mohs micrographic surgery suite and laboratory truly distinguish us. By performing same-day microscopic margin analysis on-site, we achieve the highest cure rates for skin cancer while preserving as much healthy tissue as possible. The practice also integrates digital pathology, high-resolution skin imaging, and advanced laser and cosmetic technology to provide comprehensive dermatologic solutions.

Before founding Rolling Hills Dermatology Group, for more than 10 years I served as Director of Dermatologic Surgery at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, where I volunteered to provide advanced skin-cancer care to all patients—regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. That experience reaffirmed my belief that access to life-saving dermatologic care is a right, not a privilege. It shaped the compassionate, inclusive ethos that defines our practice today.

Dermatology blends art, science, and human connection. Mohs surgery, in particular, allows me to cure cancer while achieving elegant reconstructive results. What keeps me inspired is the gratitude of my patients and the tangible difference this specialty makes every single day.

Dr. Fein has authored and co-authored several papers on cutaneous oncology, reconstructive techniques, and dermatologic surgery, and has presented his work at national dermatology meetings.
